In 1941, thousands of workers in the Zaan region went on strike. It was a moment of resistance. Resistance against the fascist occupiers. Against discrimination, forced labour, and deportation.

The February strike was no coincidence. The Zaan region was still 'red' at the time. People were organized. They embraced socialism and communism: equality, sharing alike, prosperity for all.

How did they do it? What can you learn from them? And above all: Are you ready to do the same, when necessary?

In 1941 staakten duizenden Zaanse arbeiders het werk. Het was een moment van verzet. Verzet tegen de fascistische bezetter. Tegen discriminatie, dwangarbeid en deportatie.

De februaristaking was geen toeval. De Zaanstreek was toen nog 'rood'. Zaankanters waren georganiseerd. Ze omarmden socialisme en communisme: gelijkheid, eerlijk delen, welvaart voor iedereen.

Hoe deden ze het? Wat kun je van hen leren? En vooral: Ben jij klaar om hetzelfde te doen, wanneer het nodig is?
